Sprinkler & landscape work across Denver

Denver homes range from century-old bungalows with decades of patched irrigation to newer builds with modern controllers. Nearly all of them water under Denver Water's rules, and in 2026 those rules are the strictest in years. We repair, reprogram, and winterize systems across the city so they work within them.

Denver soil: mostly clay, some sandy pockets

Much of Denver sits on clay and clay-loam soils that take in water slowly. A single long run tends to run off onto sidewalks before it soaks in, which Denver Water counts as waste. Short repeated cycles fix it.

  • ✓Cycle-and-soak programming on every lawn zone
  • ✓Nozzles matched to slow-absorbing soil
  • ✓Drip for trees and beds
  • ✓Head height checks where soil has shifted

  • Single-family even addresses: Sunday and Thursday; odd addresses: Wednesday and Saturday

  • Lawn watering prohibited as of October 1, 2026; hand-watering of trees and gardens is still allowed
  • Leaking or broken sprinkler systems must be fixed within 10 days
  • Keep water off pavement, sidewalks, and streets

Seasonal timing

The Denver irrigation year

Denver Water's regular summer rules run May 1 to October 1, and it advises against rushing into irrigation in cool May weather.

  1. 1May: slow start-up, check every head, program the assigned days
  2. 2Summer: fix leaks within 10 days and stop overspray onto pavement
  3. 3Early fall: note problem zones for repair
  4. 4October: blowout once lawn watering ends
